Dan McMellen is an award-winning filmmaker with over 25 years of experience across editing, writing, directing, and producing. His work spans Emmy-nominated television, independent features, and acclaimed short films, blending technical precision with emotionally grounded storytelling. Joining him is Brett Moses, an accomplished entrepreneur and seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience across business leadership, capital development, marketing, and film production. Together, they combine creative vision and operational discipline—aligning cinematic storytelling with strategic execution to build Die Standin’ Up on both artistic and professional foundations.

Dan McMellen

During the pandemic, Dan taught himself visual effects—mastering compositing, CGI, and digital artistry. He has since integrated these skills into his work, including effects‑driven sequences for NBC’s American Ninja Warrior, blending technical precision with emotional storytelling.

 

Recently, he directed and produced The Garage, a powerful short film that has earned over 60 awards worldwide, including Best Director, Best Short, and Best Editing. Critics praise his bold visual style and emotional depth, marking him as a fresh voice in filmmaking.

 

Releasing in 2027, Dan produced and edited the suspense/drama, “Valley of the Horntak.”

 

Based in Los Angeles with his producing partner and wife Julie Berke, their son Henry, and their dog Willow. Dan continues to push boundaries and elevate his craft with creativity, innovation, and relentless drive, he is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most compelling emerging directors.

Producer - Writer - Director 

Dan McMellen is a dynamic force in Hollywood, backed by 25 years across editing, writing, directing, producing, and music videos. His career began in the edit bay on the pilot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where his sharp storytelling helped shape a show watched by 30 million viewers and honored with multiple Emmy nominations.

 

Eager to expand beyond post‑production, Dan directed and produced his debut feature Noble Things, which earned awards at the Austin Film Festival and secured a theatrical run. The film remains a fan favorite on Amazon Prime and Apple TV, establishing him as a filmmaker with both heart and commercial sensibility.

Brett Moses

Through his company, Noble Productions, Moses oversaw all facets of development, capital raise, negotiations, and national marketing—successfully securing a theatrical release and long‑running distribution across major networks and streaming platforms, including Showtime, Cinemax, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google’s YouTube TV, Turner Classic Movies, The CW, and FOX. The film’s soundtrack, produced by country music star Clay Walker, showcased performances by some of the genre’s most recognizable artists and became a defining element of the project’s impact.

While Moses transitioned into executive leadership roles in later years—now serving as Managing Partner of True Work Logistics and COO of Wolfswinkel Entities—his experience as an Executive Producer continues to influence his work behind the scenes, where he remains dedicated to shaping meaningful projects and guiding teams to exceptional results.


He holds degrees and certifications from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, California State University, California Coast University, Harvard Business School, and Rutgers Business School.

BRETT MOSES

Executive Producer

 Brett Moses is an accomplished Executive Producer and American business leader whose career bridges the entertainment industry and high‑level corporate strategy. With more than 25 years of experience across film production, marketing, and executive operations, he has built a reputation for turning ambitious creative visions into successful commercial realities. 

 

Moses first made his mark in the entertainment world after graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, earning roles on popular television series including Melrose Place, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and NBC’s Passions, as well as national commercial campaigns for brands such as Nissan and Pace Picante. His passion for storytelling culminated in the feature film Noble Things (2009), where he served as Executive Producer, co‑writer, co‑director, and financier. The independent drama featured a celebrated cast including Ryan Hurst, Michael Parks, Dominique Swain, and James Parks.
